Spring summer 2021 trends are here! Yoohoo!
I analyze fashion trends two times throughout the year.
- One, around this time of the year for Spring/Summer
- Two, In October for Fall/Winter.
Why?
Because the most important trends with a longer lifecycle are normally set at this time.
So, If you like to refresh your wardrobe and modernize it, but keep it low-key, you need to pay attention to these trends!
Don’t worry if you are not a fashionista and don’t follow trends closely. I do the hard work and share the juicy part here for you. All you got to do, it to read the blog! 🙂
Let’s dig into it!
Before, I give you all the actual trends, it is important to know, use this list as a reference. Pick your favorites, don’t copy paste all of them to your style. No!
I recommend you pick at most two trends and get those for your wardrobe. Do not adopt to all of them. Remember the goal is to modernize the style and refresh it and not look super trendy.
Also, if none of the trends sound yummy to you, pass on them! You don’t need them to look good. They exist to add flavor to your look, that’s it!
So, What are they?
1. Comfort matters!
If you watch the runways regularly, you might say “WTH, whose gonna wear that?” pretty frequently. Well, 2020 was one of the years that actually shocked me. I heard myself saying, this is wearable, I could totally see myself wearing these more than ever!
What does this mean?
Means we are finally getting style + comfort!
Fashion and comfort used to be two separate things that didn’t come together always! But the past few years, especially last year runways were full of wearable comfortable looks. This trend is going to last and they are so much data to back it up.
The only major difference between the 2020 and 2021 is that:
2020 was all about comfort. I’m sure you saw sweatsuits everywhere throughout the year and on social media a lot but this year the styles look elevated while the textures, fabric and designs are flowy and comfortable.
When you look at the runways, you see that most upper body garments are more towards casual with more of a sophisticated patterns and lower body garments are smart.
So the whole style is smart casual.
casual for the upper body, smart for lower body.
2. Pants design
It’s time to ditch your sweatpants!
But, don’t worry you are going back to tight jeans and legging. No! Instead you are going to enjoy wide leg pants throughout the next 6 months at least, if not more!
Considering that wide legs were the trend for Fall/Winter 2020 I assume they are here to stay quite some time.
3. Popular colors
This year is supposed to be a good year, at least we want to keep the hope alive! That is why you see lots of bright and happy pastel colors on the runway. These pastel colors can be a great addition to your wardrobe even after the seasons especially for dresses and tops. You can pair them easily with tons of colors as well as jeans.
4. Bralettes , short tops
This trend has a pretty long lifecycle as well. Each year in one way or another little tops/bralette become trendy. I’m sure you saw lots of streetstyles with bralettes and blazers last year around this time.
So if you don’t go crazy on this trend, you can always take it out during the hot seasons and showcase your tanned skin! 🙂
Long satin/silk skirts are a perfect match for bralettes, but if you are not a skirt person, don’t worry! Most of the brands paired their bralettes with pants this year as well!
That’s it!
Remember, I analyze lots of trends and only talk about the ones I believe are going to stick for a longer time and work with a classy, timeless style as well.
